Our lab was founded in September 2008, at room 403, science IV building, department of physics, National Central University. From an empty room filled with unused furniture, we have managed to build three operating experimental platforms over the period. We owe much to contribution from past and present members, funding from school and NSC, and God’s providence and guidence.
During the past two years, we have been focusing our research interests mostly on applied physics related to semiconductor technologies. In particular, we are interested in studying the solid phase epitaxial regrowth dynamics of ion implanted silicon and dopant activation/diffusion behaviors in sub-micron patterned silicon.
The above studies are expected to further our understanding in the physics involved in current or future strained silicon, advanced annealing, ultra shallow junction formation technologies and issues such as systematic micro-loading effect/threshold voltage variation encountered in silicon based device fabrication. Industry-bound students can expect to be trained into competent professional through these up-to-date technological issues.
Our interest in condensed matter physics goes beyond traditional solid state physics. We have started soft matter/biological physics related experiment through in-campus collaboration. We started by looking into the collective dynamics in bacterial carpet system in microfluidics device, which hopefully would lead to richer and more interesting scientific exploration in near future.
We gladly welcome any prospective graduate/undergraduate students who are interested in our research studies to join the lab. We also welcome any friendly visit with bring-along snacks or drink during off hours! 2010.10
